CBT:

Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) is the first course you take to enable you to ride a moped or motorcycle on the road. This training ensures you are equipped with the knowledge and skills in order to safely ride your own moped/motorbike on the road.

After completing a CBT: -16 year olds can ride a 50cc moped
-17 year olds+ can ride up to 125cc Moped/Motorbike
-L plates must be displayed on your Moped/Motorbike.
-Must be repeated or upgraded to a A2/Full Licence in order to remain road legal.

A valid CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) is a legal requirement for anyone wishing to ride a 50cc/125cc, and over. The CBT is an introduction to motorcycling which can be completed individually or as part of a Full Licence (DAS) course.

The CBT Licence lasts 2 years and must be either repeated or upgraded to an A2/Full Licence in order to remain road legal.

4: This classroom session, covers how to identify and deal with hazards, and to ensure the student has an understanding of the Highway Code.

5: Be free, not quite... This final session is the culmination of everything learnt that day. This practical on road session, lasts approximately two hours.
